Designing of Metal Brackrt-II using NX Cad

Title:- Designing of Metal Brackrt-II using NX Cad

Objective:-

Write a detailed report on Sheet Metal Component with good explanation on Sheet Metal modelling tools applied throughout the modelling.

Introduction:-

Here, for designing Metal bracket-II we have various NX Cad tools. Tools which are used for modelling are Contour flange, Normal cutout, break corner, unbend, Rebend, Advance flange, Hole, Gusset.

Design methodology:-

  • Use Contour Flange to create a base profile for the metal bracket-II
  • Use Normal Cutout to get the desired profile for the metal bracket-II
  • Use Break Corner to blend the sharpe corners of the profile.
  • Use Unbend.
  • Use Normal Cutout
  • Use Rebend
  • Use Advance Flange to get the profile for the bracket.
  • Use Unbend
  • Use Hole to punch holes in the profile.
  • Use Normal cutout to shape the profile.
  • Use Advance Flange
  • Use rebend
  • Use Gusset

Description:-

Contour Flange:-

It is created by extending the sketch on its representive axis with the thickness as required from the base.

Normal Cutout:-

It is used to cut or create a gap in the sketch.

Break Corner:-

It is used to convert the sharp edges to the smooth edges of the corner.

Unbend:-

It is used for Unbending corners of the body.

Rebend:-

It is used for bending corners of the unbend body.

Advance Flange:-

In this type of feature we can add an extending part on the edge of the model. this can be changed in degree, length also.

Hole:-

A Hole feature is used to create holes on the model.

Gusset:-

It is a feature added to give stiffness to the bent sheet metal part hence increasing the strength of the part.

Conclusion:-

Thus we have successfully designed Metal Bracket-II using NX Cad.
