Challenge

Creating Bar Bending schedule, Different Door types, and Creation of standard drawing templates using AutoCad

AIM:-

  1. To Create a Template, using attribute command insert the text 9and then convert the template to block.
  2. To Create the Doors of warehouse and convert those to blocks.
  3. To Create the Electrical legend and convert those to blocks.
  4. To Create Different types of Door finishing for a residential buildings and convert those to blocks.
  5. To Create the bentup bars as shown and convert each bentup bar to block and then make table as shown in figure and then as per bar bending schedule as shown place the block and text as well.

INTRODUCTION:-

  • The main aim is to draw the title sheet and then add the text using the attribute command. Once the text is added then the whole figure is converted into a block. The following commands used in these is explained below briefly.
  • In AutoCAD, a block is a collection of objects that are combined into a single named object. It is used to create the repeated content, such as drawing symbols, common components, and standard details. Blocks help you save time, maintain consistency, and reduce file size, since you can reuse and share content.
  • The command used to create attribute is Attdef. Attribute definitions are a great way of storing text information as part of blocks in AutoCAD drawings. Attributes can be added to block definitions for making them more informative. An attribute is a label or tag that attaches data to a block. Examples of data that might be contained in an attribute are part numbers, prices, comments, and owners' names.
  • In the list of attributes, to edit the attribute use edit command Attedit or double-click the attribute you want to edit, or select the attribute and click Edit. In the Edit Attribute dialog box, make changes on the following tabs and click OK: Attribute tab.
  • Batman is command used in AutoCAD. It manages the attributes for a selected block definition. The Block Attribute Manager is displayed. If the current drawing does not contain any blocks with attributes, a message is displayed.
  • Attdisp is a command used to control the visibility overrides for all block attributes in a drawing. The drawing is regenerated after you change the visibility settings unless REGENAUTO, which controls automatic regeneration, is off. The current visibility of attributes is stored in the ATTMODE system variable.
  • Field is a command used to create a text field with dynamic contents. You can run the FIELD command in any localized version of AutoCAD by typing field in the commandline.

COMMANDS USED:-

  • Block.
  • Insert.
  • Attributes.
  • Field.
  • Rectangle.
  • Line
  • Text.
  • Array.
  • Mirror.
  • Copy.
  • Offset.

AIM1:-

To Create a Template, using attribute command insert the text 9and then convert the template to block.

  1. Custom 1_title block
  2. Custom 2_title block

PROCEDURE:-

Custom1_title block:-

  • Create a rectangle of size 66.63mm and 158 mm
  • Divide it with line for the text box into columns
  • For rows, take offsets approx.
  • By multiline text, type rev, description, by, date on the first row by text height 2.5 and style - Times New Roman.
  • For rows and column, take offsets match the requirement approx.
  • Again, use multiline text and type the required text in caps with text height 1.5 and style as Times New Romans.

  • Create Layer and name it as template and set the color as cyan and apply the line weight as 0.3. To view the line weight use the command the Lw to visible the thickend layer.

  • To open a block tab use B command in command line. Then block definition dialogue box appears- give name as "Custom1_ title block"- select pick point and select a point in the table- select the object- select the whole table including the text. Give scale uniformly and tick allow exploding. Select convert to block option.

  • As we can select any the option in retain, convert to block and delete I have selected convert to block command that is the object we selected is converted to block and then remains as such in the display screen. If we select retain option the object it wiil be retain and same as the actual drawing and a block is created for the objects that we have selected. If we want to use delete option then the converted block is deleted after pressing on OK button. And then use insert command to insert the object whatever is required.

Custom2_title block:-

  • Draw rectangle of 252 and 46 mm With lines divide the to the required rows and columns. With the use of multiline text insert the following: height 2.5.
  • Create a small rectangle at the right corner, explode it, create rows and columns.

  • By attributes, create the text inside it.
  • Command "ATT" - attribute definition dialogue box appears.
  • Insert the tag line - tag we are giving, visible before creating the block.
  • Prompt: Question we need to add what we need to enter.
  • Default: the value shown in drawing after making it as a block.

  • Repeat the same process again and again. For each element that is create attributes similarly for the rest of the text. The attributes created, now convert the object drawn to block.

  • To open a block tab use B command in command line. Then block definition dialogue box appears- give name as "Custom2_ title block"- select pick point and select a point in the table- select the object- select the whole table including the text.

  • Now double click on the block converted to obtain the edit attribute tab. In which we can edit the attribute as per requirement. I have the changed the text of the attribute to get better understanding over the template created. However, I kept the attribute text as such that is nothing is edited.

  • Click ok to get back the screen.
  • And then deleted the blocks created.

Result:-

  • The Blocks are created as per requirement that is Custom1_title block and Custom2_title block. That is to open the blocks which were deleted. Type the 'i' in the command line to open the insert window to attach the blocks.
