Channel flow simulation using CONVERGE CFD

Channel Flow Simulation

In this project, we are doing a simple 2D simulation of channel flow using Converge. The aim of this is to learn the command in Converge and how to set up the case. The simulation is done in three different base mesh and compared with each other.

SIZE (dx,dy,dz)- 0.1,0.01

CASE 1-

dx = 2e-4m, dy = 2e-4m, dz = 2e-4m

Velocity counter-

Pressure-

Average Velocity (inlet)

Average Velocity (outlet)

Mass Flow Rate (inlet)

MAss Flow Rate (outlet)

Total Pressure

CASE 2-

dx = 1.5e-4m, dy = 1.5e-4m, dz = 1.5e-4m

Velocity counter-

Pressure-

Average Velocity (inlet)

Average Velocity (outlet)

Mass Flow Rate (inlet)

Mass Flow Rate (outlet)

Total Pressure

CASE 3-

dx = 1.0e-4m, dy = 1.0e-4m, dz = 1.0e-4m

Velocity Counter-

Pressure-

Average Velocity (inlet)

Average Velocity (outlet)

Mass Flow Rate (inlet)

Mass flow Rate (outlet)

Total Pressure

Conclusion-

For the simulation of the base mesh size of 1.0e-4m takes more time.

The velocity and mass flow rate curve of mesh sizes of 2e-4m and 1.0e-4m are the same in nature.

The pressure value changes are the same because of constrained boundary conditions.
