BOX ASSEMBLY

OBJECTIVE:

To observe the model and design the sheet metal by using given dimensions and instructions

INTRODUCTION:

NX is widely used Computer Aided Designing software for multi purposes like designing, engineering and manufacturing. It used in various fields for different works. Using different features and methods we have designed here.

DESIGN METHODOLOGY:

DESCRIPTION:

  • Sketching - Making a 2d drawing such as curves, arcs, cirlces, points, rectangles and many options to create a drawing or to create features for upcoming designing.
  • Tab - It is a base for extruding a sketch to make a sheet metal in a planar face by changing its thickness,
  • Flange - it adds an angular or flat surface on the edge of the surface to create an extended surface with the required directions,
  • Closed corner - This is to create a close corner on the gap or unfilled portion of the body,
  • Hem - It is to modify the surface by folding edges of sheet in order to improve the characteristics,
  • Bead - This is to create a contour shaped accordingly to their sketch in the required direction with required punch/die radius,
  • Dimple - It is to lift an area shown on the sketch to create an impression on the sheet metal,
  • Mirror - This feature is to copy the feature or body or sketch on the required plane or direction accordingly on the opposite sides. This option is available both horizontally and vertically.
  • Break corner - This feature is for making the corner blend with some self dimensioned radius in order to make the corner smooth.
  • Normal cutout - It is used to create a cut portion or a gap on the sketch where there is a requirement.
