Benchmarking :In automotive industry it is used for comparison of similar products,services and on dimensions performance. It is the process of analysing the choices of similar products based on the selection factor and deducing it to final conclusion.
Advantages :
- Improve quality.
- Decrease manufacturing time.
- Reduce scrap rework.
- Increase Production.
Disadvantages :
- Insufficient information.
- Decreased results.
- Lack of customer satisfaction.
- Increased dependency.
Types of Benchmarking : There are two types of benchmarking they are; 1. Internal Benchmarking.
2. External Benchmarking.
- Internal benchmarking: comparison of practices and performance between teams, individuals or groups within an organization.
- External benchmarking: comparison of organizational performance to industry peers or across industries.
Aim: To conduct brief analysis of 5 seater family car.
Question:Mr. D.S. Pughazhyendhii is a married man who lives in Bangalore which is a highly crowded city. His Family comprises five members including his wife, a five-year-old boy, his father, and his mother. He visits his native place Madurai which is 500kms away from Bangalore once a month. Also, he will be using his car to commute to his office. His budget falls between 8 to 10 lakhs on road. Please suggest to him options so that he will buy a good car for his family.

Review:
I have selected a vehicle to do a benchmarking for a Mr.D.S.Pughazhyendhii requirement. After completing my analysis among the four vehicles i selected a TATA NEXON XE.
Reasons:
It has a five star rating in car crash test.
It has a good space in cabin space and boot space and a aggresive,attractive look with sun roof.
It is a low price for comparing above two cars.
It has a good mileage car for comparing two vehicles.
Conclusion :
From the above 3 cars i goes to industrial safety standards then TATA NEXON XE will be the best option as it has a 5 star rating.
In my opinion for 4adults and 1child with NCAP safety rating and high mileage efficiency and spacious cabin. TATA NEXON XE will be my first priority to suggest to Mr.D.S.Pughazhyendhii.
