• Benchmarking is the process of comparing the products feature, services or the processes with the competitor or another firm to identify the improvement strategy to give the best product to the consumer than the competitors product.

FOR EXAMPLE:

* If a X company want to build a hood of a car, and that company will do benchmarking with the competitor and from them it will identify the best company say that’s a Y company which has the best hood design. So, The X company will try to develop the better hood than the Y company’s Hood so that it will be best for the consumer and the company.

Now, Say These two hoods are the best in the market and we have to improve the better hood than these. For example, These two hoods have more weight and our target should reduce the weight of the hood where it will lead to weight reduction of the car that also results in improving the mileage.

So, The result of the benchmarking is to reduce the weight of the hood and will design and develop the hood according to it.

CASE STUDY

Mr. D.S. Pughazhyendhii is a married man who lives in Bangalore which is a highly crowded city. His Family comprises five members including his wife, five-year-old boy, his father, and his mother. 3.3-cylinder petrol engine is provided to improve petrol petrol mileage but can't match 4-cylinder competition in NVH and lagging

4.Resale value of Tata cars are little less - need to see how it performs in resale market after few years

OVERVIEW

• Mahindra XUV300 1.2 W4 is the petrol variant in the XUV300 lineup. It returns a certified mileage of 17 kmpl. This 1.2 W4 variant comes with an engine putting out 109 bhp @ 5000 rpm and 200 Nm @ 2000 rpm of max power and max torque respectively.

2). The Space in the driver’s footwell is not enough to make the comfortable for the driver’s.

CONCLUSION

* On Comparing all the above cars such as Tata Nexon, Maruti Baleno, Mahindra XUV, Renault Kiger I highly recommed Tata Nexon as it has 5 star rating GNCAP, It has greater mileage and it will be be suited for Mr. Pugalendhi as he will be using the car for long driving and in city as well. It also has high spacious interior as there are 5 members in their family. The Boot space provided in Tata Nexon is really impressive and also it will be very useful for Mr. Pugalendhi and his family as that boot capacity will come handy to load enough luggages when travelling to Native.

* Overall, Tata Nexon is the right suitable car for anyone whose budget is under 10lakhs.
