Benchmarking

BENCHMARKING IN AUTOMOBILE INDUSTRY:

Automotive benchmarking refers to the systematic comparison of processes, services and products in an automotive industry a^. This involves intensive research and even collaboration of companies to compare their processes, services and products being offered to the public a^.

Benchmarking involves a structures comparison between similar products, services or processes on some dimensions of performance. For example it can be used to compare the availability and delivery of features in a product and it this form often provides the basic of consumer tests and reviews a^. These look at products and services and provided recommendations based on which is best or some form of ranking amongst competitors.

Benchmarking of this kind can operate at several levels.

  • Between similar processes in the same factory or service branch
  • Between different factories or service branches
  • Between different competing organizations
  • Between different sectors using the same process

Mr. D.S. Pughazhyendhii expectation for buying car:

  • Budget - 8 to 10 lakhs (on road)
  • Seating capacity - 5Â
  • Milage - a decent one (15 to 20 Kmpl)

Let us suggest him 4 different brands:

  • Tata Altroz
  • Nissan Magnite
  • Hyundai Aura
  • Honda Amaze

1.) NISSAN MAGNITE:

2.) TATA ALTROZ:

3.) Hyundai Aura:

 4.) Honda Amaze:

Comparisons:

  • The nissan magnite & honda amaze too performs well. But as compared for city rides Tata altroz perform way more better than these three.
  • The nissan magnite aesthetic looks are top noch while comparing with others.
  • The Tata altroz comfort & safety is a step forward comparing with others.

Mr. D.S. Pughazhyendhii's usage of his vehicle:

As per the analysis Mr.D.S.Pughazhyendhii is a married men lives in bengaluru which is highly crowded city. He more often uses his car in city, regular for his office and travel once a while for his native which is around 500Km. He has five members in his family including him.

This brings me into a conclusion that he more often uses his car in his city. So the vehicle must have good milage, safety, comfort and styling.

I would suggest him TATA ALTROZÂ automatic transmission.

TATA Altroz will perform well for his day to day city usage and as well as highway ride. The TATA Altroz is a five seater with good milage and has 5-Star in global ncap rating. So this car suits him well to perform his day to day needs.

Â

Conclusion:

Thus a detailed benchmarking is done and a car is suggested for his requirement.
