Benchmarking
As Mr. D.S. Pughazhyendhii lives in the crowded city, his family consist of 5 members, visits his native place madhurai which is 500 km away from banglore, has to go to office daily then the benchmarks that we will be taking as an input for suggesting the car is-
- Price- 8-10 lakhs as this is the budget.
- Minimum 5 seater as family members are 5
- Mileage for occassional long drive
- Automatic transmission as he has to use it daily.
- Boot storage for long drive.
- Safety as he has to drive the daily.
- Width of the car as for the easy access in crowded city.
But we have to exclude the Automatic transmission as the cars with automatic transimission are out of budget and does to give good milege.
The Car that I am suggesting should be an Crossover as it is the combination of SUV(Sports Utility Vehicle) and MUV(Multi utility Vehicle) as it gives the milage as well as it completes the dream to own a big car for Mr. D.S. Pughazhyendhii. Also they have good milege as compard to SUV and also can be easily accessible in the crowed city.
The Different Cars that I'm gonna compare is-
- Tata Nexon
- Mahindra xuv 300
- Maruti Suzuki Brezza
- Kia Sonnet
The Different Benchmarks are-(Comparing the base models only)
| BENCHMARKS/CARS | TATA NEXON | MAHINDRA XUV 300 | MARUTI SUZUKI BREZZA | KIA SONNET |
| MILEAGE | 17.0 kmpl(diesel) | 17.0 kmpl(diesel) | 20.15 kmpl(petrol) | 18.3kmpl(diesel) |
| WIDTH | 1811 | 1821 | 1790 | 1790 |
| SAFTEY | 5 stars | 5 stars | 3 stars | 3 stars |
| PRICE | Rs.11,29,197 | Rs.10,94,822 | Rs.8,99,816 | Rs.10,29,601 |
| BOOT SPACE | 350 ltrs | 259 ltrs | 328 ltrs | 392 ltrs |
| SEATING CAPACITY | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 |
| AIR BAGS | 2 | 2 | 2 | 4 |
| Looks | DECENT LOOKS | SPORTY LOOK | NORMAL LOOKS | SPORTY LOOKS |
if we look at the above benchmarks then we can see that:-
- In milege maruti suzuki is winning the race but it is available only in petrol so the mahindra XUV 300 wins the race as it becomes cheaper due to diesel as the fuel which is cheaper as comnpared to petrol.
- Width maruti suszuki brezza and kis sonnet is wiing the race.
- Saftey which is most important aspect after price, the tata nexon and the mahindra xuv300 wins the race as they are of 5 stars
- Price-Mahindra XUV 300 is approxx. 40,000 less then TATA nexon which is wining the race and is out of budget so i would suggest Mahindra XUV 300 as it is safer and has diesel engine.
- boot space for kia sonnet is maximum but it is not safer car so again it is lossing the race so if we compare the price then the xuv 300 wins the race again.
- Look wise the mahindra xuv 300 wins the race.
So by analysing all the above facts from which safty, milege and the price is the most important factors we conclude that the XUV 300 wins the race as it has less price and the from the tata nexon and hav
five ratings in safety and have good mileage. So it wins the race.
Apart from all this the engine of mahindra xuv 300 is most powerful engine in the segment as it produces maximum BHP and Torque which alligns me to this car for more.
Benchmarking
Automotive Benchmarking is the process of analyzing the choices of similar products based on the selection factor and deducing it to final conclusion.
Benchmarking is the process of comparison of similar products on some dimensions of performance.
In Simple words benchmaring is a techniques which is used by the componies to compares the product they are building with already present product which may be the product of some different compony or the same compony product. Basically we choose some bench mark or or some feature from that product and then do some engineering to improve its features by taking the customers feedbacks and some other factors.
