What is Benchmark?

Benchmark is a basically a comparison between the idea you are generating and the model which already exists in the market in case of designing any automotive model.

Let us suppose we have to develop one new model of car for that we need to first look at the market what are models are running on the roads, we have to study about them one by one and we need to rectify the mistakes in the exists models and after that, we have to improve and do calculations for launching our new product.

We need to study the concepts of our competitors if we have to stand in the market. The concept of the benchmark tells us what we have to improve in the existing models and how we have to set a price of that model which will be comparatively less than that model which exists in the market.

Now For MR. DS wants to buy a car for his work and they are five in the family who lived in Bangalore's crowded city. The range in between they want to buy the car is between 8-10 lacs. Now we are suggesting to him the new car that they want to buy that matches his profile.

He can go with SUVs or Sedans as they provide 5 seater facility and cargo space. New smaller SUVs with more cargo space are available with more efficiency.

Benchmarking comes under the predesign and development in which there are two types of the benchmarks

1. Benchmarking 1

2. Benchmarking 2

As the name suggested to us about the benchmarking, we have compared the two models on the behalf of the Price, existing components, and what improvements would be done in the new model, so we can stand in the market in case of the cost we can sell our product such as compare to the older product that is selling int he market.

Benchmarking 2 is defined as the overall definitions and detailed report of benchmark 1. In this case, we start calculating our design analysis, cost how much is required to produce that product, and at what quantity we need to produce that product, this all comes under the category f benchmarking second.

This picture tells us about benchmarking which is the comparison between two Products.

The cycle of Benchmarking:-

MODEL FUEL TYPE ENGINE TYPE MILEAGE(KMPL) COST(LACS) SEATING CAPACITY RATIN1.1G

1. NISSAN MAGNITE XV TURBO EXECUTIVE

PETROL MANUAL (5 GEAR) TURBOCHARGED ENGINE 20 (ARAI) 8.01 5 3.5/5
2. TATA PUNCH ACCOMPLISHED DAZZLE PACK AMT PETROL MANUAL OVERRIDE (5 GEAR) 18.8 (ARAI) 8.48 5 3.5/5
3. MAHINDRA XUV3 1.2W6 PETROL MANUAL (6 GEARS) 17 (ARAI) 10 5 3.5/54

CONCLUSION

This list of cars can be considered as his preference according to his budget and requirement and opt for as per his convenience.

  • As he prefers big cars then SUVs can choose as his first choice and then sedans and hatchbacks as his last preference.

MR. Ds is looking for a new car in the range between 8-10 lacs in a crowded city, as according to my study and report I have been gone through from the four types of the modes of different cars. Above you can see the specifications for the each models, how they are different from each other. According to my best knowledge that has been gone from our two videos I can conclude that out of the above four mentioned cars I think he needs to buy the NISSAN MAGNITE XV TURBO EXECUTIVE. I conclude this just because of the comparison in between those four out of which it has much better specifications than the all other

for they are giving you this car at 8.01 lacs with 20 mileage(ARAI) with 3.4 rating from the peoples and also it has also 5 gears with manual transmission with a turbo engine. I think it is a positive point if your engine is a turbo engine because it will give you the best efficiency according to all these vehicles at this price that's why it has a high mileage value as according to all other vehicles.

Also for the crowded city, I think the manual transmission is much better than the automotive transmission, just because you change gears several times in a crowded place, if you use automotive transmission I think it has much service cost because your automotive transmission has to much wear and tear in a crowded place.

This is best from my side if you can make me clear more for the comparison then please suggest to me what vehicle I should I have suggested to MR.DS
