Good Things

  • Boot Space - The 550-litre enclosure is adequate in case the third row is not in use
  • Lightweight - This has a positive effect on performance and fuel efficiency
  • Cruising capability – The flat ride quality makes it ideal for traversing long distances
  • Easy to drive – Almost feels like piloting a Swift and not a seven-seater MPV
  • Value for money
  • Easy to drive
  • Good interior space
  • Solid road presence - A strong shoulder line, flashy grille and the large wheels
  • Feature loaded - Top trims get lots of modern equipment/extravagant music player
  • Quality interiors - Good quality with appreciable fit/finish, favourable ergonomics
  • Modern powertrains - The line-up consists of ultra-refined and efficient engines
  • Smooth gearboxes - The transmissions offer convenience and are a breeze to use
  • High ground clearance
  • Spacious interior, practicality
  • Frugal motor
Could be Better
  • Third-row legroom - Tall people in the second row can limit legroom in the last row
  • Interior plastic quality – Feels inconsistent as you start going lower down in the cabin
  • Compact MPV - It is still a smaller MPV when compared to the Innova and Marazzo
  • The engine gets noisy past 2,500rpm
  • Bumpy low-speed ride
  • Interior plastic quality
  • Rear seat space - It isn’t airy, seating three on the bench is a tight affair

  • Lacks road presence
  • No transmission options

Hundai Venue is better model suited to Mr. Pughazhyendhii based on the benchmarking report done above. It offers much better stability in performance and spacious compared to other model and it is under the budget of 10 lakhs with top spec model. Maruthi Suzuki Ertiga also provides better features but lags Honda WR-V on the poor transmission option along with Eco Sport and XUV models.

Side view

While the Hyundai Venue rivals models like the Maruti Brezza and Tata Nexon over here in our market, it’s a global product sold in many other countries. The India-spec Venue is yet to be tested by Global NCAP but the model available in Australia was tested by ANCAP and received a respectable 4-star safety rating. The model tested was in a feature-loaded trim and came with features like dual front airbags, side airbags, curtain airbags, autonomous emergency brakes, lane keep assist, lane departure warning and emergency lane keep assist. On the other hand, the model available in India misses out on many of the above features.

CONCLUSION

Thus the detailed benchmarking is done and car mode is proposed based on the reports based on above case
