Assignment 2-RADIOSS Engine File Editing & 3D Meshing Challenge
ASSIGNMENT-2: RADIOSS Engine File Editing & 3D Meshing Challenge
According to the stater fie,
E=210000 MPA
DENSITY=0.0078 g/mm^3
Length=1000 m.m
So, speed of sound in steel rail= 5189 mm/ms
So, time step =0.2 ms
Time required for sound to travel the length=1000/5189=0.2 ms

3D Meshing:
AIM: To generate 3-d mesh both tetra and hexa for separate models given with respect to the following quality criteria:
- Target tet size=5mm, hex size=10mm, tet collapse=0.15.
PROCEDURE FOR TETRAMESH GENERATION FOR HOUSING MODEL:
There are two components in the model.
- At first criteria and parameter file is created, which is common for both components.
Then using volume tetra mesh is generated for the cover component. Here proximity and curvature option are selected.

- AFTER THAT USING CHECK ELEMS COMMAND TET COLLAPSE WAS CHECKED. AND IT IS OBSERVED THAT ZERO ELEMENT IS FAILING.
- Using volume tetra mesh is generated for the HUB component. Here proximity and curvature option are selected

- AFTER THAT USING CHECK ELEMS COMMAND TET COLLAPSE WAS CHECKED. AND IT IS OBSERVED THAT ZERO ELEMENT IS FAILING.
PROCEDURE FOR HEXMESH GENERATION FOR ARM_BRACKET MODEL:
There are four components in the model.
- At first hex meshing was performed on base component with element offset command. Here for generating 2-d mesh quad only elements are chosen.
- Generating HEX mesh on arm curve spin command was chosen.
- After that hex mesh was generated on arm straight component by using linear solid command.
- And at last boss component was hex meshed by using solid map command.
