Assignment 1-2D Meshing Challenge

Objective: Carrying out the geometric clean up operations for the given models and obtaing a better meshed surface.

Procedure:

1. Importing the goemetry to the hyperworks user interface and then rectifyong the errors in the surface in order to correct them using edit feature to obtain finer mesh and similar midsurface.

2. Then extracting the mid surface for the given model and verifying it for not having any errors.

3. The surface are meshed of size 5mm using the Automesh feature. Holes less than 5mm size can be neglected and washer surface to be generated for holes of dia greater than 5mm to obtain finer mesh.

4. The triangular elements are to be minimized and make sure that they are not any opposite triangular entities.

5. Quality of the mesh to be controleed and increased by increasing the number of regular quad entities in the mesh and genrating much uniform pattern and obtaining a smoother curve.

6. A geometric poperty is assigned by giving a thickness of 2mm to it and the model then saved in .hm format.
