Assembly of Yacht
SUNSEEKER YACHT
OBJECTIVE:
The objective of this project is used to create a surface model of different parts of the yacht using solid works .
To assemble the different parts modeled for the yacht.
PART MODELLING:
Part Modeling you can create a part from a conceptual sketch through solid feature –based modeling, as well as build and modify parts through direct and intuitive graphical manipulation.
INTRODUCTION:
A yacht is a large , recreational boat or ship used for pleasure or sports . The word comes from “Dutch” origin and was originally defined as a light and fast sailing vessel .Sun seeker international is a British luxury performance brand .A luxury yachts comes with a wide variety of extra amenities from basic facilities to swimming pool or Disco etc…

1.PROPELLER

A propeller is a device which is used for propelling the aircraft or boat, consisting of a revolving shaft with two or more broad, angle blades to it.
FEATURES TO BE USED:
Sketch
Revolve
Cut Extrude
Loft
Fillet
Circular Pattern
Sketch
Sketch is the two dimensional representation of the model with respect to the plane from the outside of the mode. To create a revolve feature : Create a sketch that contains one or more profiles and a centerline, line ,or edge to use as the axis around which the feature revolves.
Circular Pattern
Circular pattern is used to create a pattern of the propeller. By using this multiple patterns are created.
Loft
Loft and surfaces generated by 3D curves or existing edges creating a smooth tangency between the selected curves.
2.HULL

A Hull is a watertight body of a ship or boat. The hull may open at the top or it may be fully or partially covered with a deck. A top of the deck may be a deckhouse and other superstructure ,such as a funnel ,derrick, or mast. The line where the hull meets the water surface is called waterline.
FEATURES TO BE USED:
Projected curve
Shell
Delete face
Swept Bose/Bose
Trim Entities
Offset Entities
Convert Entities
Extend surface
Filled surface
Extrude surface
Trim surface
Knit surface
Project curve
The project curve will be available under the feature tab. The project curves command can be used to create a 3D curve .The curve can be created by using the reference of two 2D curves
Offset
The offset command is used to create a similar length or distance as required.
Shell
The shell command is used to thickened surface either it can be done in the interior or exterior surface.
Trim
The trim command is used remove the extra portions in the sketch.
Convert Entities
Convert selected model edges or sketch entities into sketch segment.
Extend surface
Extend the edge, multiple edges or the face on a surface based on end conditions and extension type.
Filled surface
Constructs a surface patch within a boundary defined byexisting model edges ,sketch or curves.
Trim surface
Trim a surface where one surface intersects with anothersurface ,a plane or a sketch.
Knit surface
Combines two or more adjacent ,non-intersecting surfaces together.
3.FRONT SEAT

Front seat is located at the front end of hull which is usually used for seating and to enjoy the scenery.
FEATURES TO BE USED
Swept surface
Dome
Lofted surface
Swept Surface
Creates a surface feature by sweeping an open or closed profile along an open or closed path.
Dome
Dome ,in architecture ,hemispherical structure evolved from the arc, usually forming ceiling or roof over the surface or face being selected.
Loft surface
Creates a surface loft between two or more profiles
4.MIDDLE SEAT

Middle seat is situated just after rear end of superstructure which also used for seating and chilling out.
FEATURES TO BE USED
Extruded Bose/Base
Extruded cut
Fillet
Extruded Bose /Base
Extrudes a sketch or selected sketch contours in one or more directions to create a solid feature.
Extrude cut
The extrude cut features used to remove the unwanted materials as per the modeling sketch.
Fillet
In mechanical engineering, a fillet is a rounding of an interior or exterior corner of a part design.
5.REAR SEAT

Rear seat is situated at rear end of hull which also used for seating and Enjoying view.
FEATURES TO BE USED
Offset surface
Ruled surface
Trim surface
Knit surface
Offset Surface
Creates offset surface using one or more contiguous faces
Ruled surface
Inserts ruled surfaces from edges.
Trim surface
Trims a surface where one surface intersects with another surface ,a plane or a sketch.
Knit surface
Combines two or more adjacent ,non intersecting surfaces together
6.GARAGE DOOR

Garage Door which is usually used to park vehicle inside yacht.
FEATURES TO BE USED
Extruded Bose/Base
Extruded cut
Fillet
7.SUPERSTRUCTURE

A superstructure is an upward extension of an existing structure above a base line .The size of a watercraft ‘s superstructure can have many implications in the performance of ships and boats ,since these structures can alter their structural rigidity, their displacements and or stability .These can be determined to any vessel’s performance if they are taken into consideration incorrectly.
The height and the weight of superstructure on board a ship or a boat also affects the amount of freeboard that such a vessel requires along its sides, down to her waterline. In broad terms, the more and heavier superstructure that a ship possess, the less the freeboard that is needed.
FEATURES TO BE USED
Projected curve
Delete face
Swept Boss/Base
Offset entities
Convert entities
Extruded surface
Trim surface
Knit surface
Delete face
Deletes faces from solid bodies to create surfaces or deletes faces from a surface bodies.
8.RADARMAST

Radar is a detection system that uses radio waves to determine the range ,angle, or velocity of objects. It can be used to detect aircrafts ,ships ,spacecrafts ,guided missile, motor vehicles weather formation and terrain .A radar system consists of a transmitter producing electromagnetic waves in the radio or microwaves domain ,a transmitting antenna, a receiving antenna and a receiver and processor to determine properties of the object and return to the receiver ,giving information about the object’s location and speed.
FEATURES TO BE USED
Extruded Bose/Base
Extruded Cut
Fillet
Swept Bose/Base
Mirror
Mirror
Mirror features ,faces and bodies about a face or a plane.
9.RADAR

Radar is a system for detecting the presence, direction, distance ,and speed of aircraft ships ,and other objects ,by sending out pulses of radio waves which are reflected off the object back to the source.
FEATURES TO BE USED
Extruded Bose/Base
Extruded cut
Fillet
Sketch Driven Pattern

Convert entities
Split line
Sketch Driven Pattern
Sketch driven pattern using sketch points within a sketch, you can specify a feature pattern.
Convert entities
Coverts selected model edges or sketch entities into sketch segments.
Split line
Exceptionally useful for splitting faces without creating new surface bodies or trimming.
ASSEMBLY OF DESIGNED COMPONENTS

In this portion all the designed individual parts are assembled together for sun seeker yacht Design
STEPS TO BE FOLLOWED
All Designed parts to be inserted one by one as per requirements.
Apply mate conditions with respective parts for giving exact location Assembly.
In the assembly only Rear seat, Radar and propeller are to locate using coincident and concentric relations with respective parts .Other parts are already fixed so no need of giving separate mate conditions.
PHOTOELASTIC RENDERING USING PHOTOVIEW 360

Rendering is the process of converting a 3D model into a realistic image .In solid works the rendering process can be done by using solid works add-ins such as photo view 360. Inside the render tools user can edit the appearance , decals, scene, etc……
By using the final render option one can predict how realistic the 3D model would look like.
CONCULSION:
At the end of project each and every component of Sun seeker Yacht designed in part files and all of them are assembled together in assembly part to get a complete design of Yacht.
