Analysis & Design of RCC shear walls in the model using ETABS

  • Open up the Model for which You Want to Design the Shear Wall
  1. As we all know, the very first step is to locate the file on your computer and open the ETABS model.
  2. And in our case, the file has been attached to the question.
  3. So, download the file, save it at an appropriate location within your system, and then open the same using ETABS.

  • Check the Model and Run the Analysis
  1. Now that we have opened up the required model, we need to run the analysis using the software.
  2. However, before running the analysis, we need to first check the model for any structural defects.
  3. And to do that, simply drop down the analysis menu and click on the check option.
  4. Select all the options given in the menu and then run the check.
  5. Once the model has been checked and is free from errors, we can safely run the analysis.
  6. And to run the analysis, simply press the F5 key on your keyboard or click on the play button available on the ETABS screen.
