Objective: -

To design Metal Bracket from given 2D sketch using NX sheet metal workbench

Introduction: -

Sheet metal is a metal forming process into thin pices through various industrial processes like bending, punching, rolling, cutting, etc. Here, I have created a 3D model of a metal bracket from given 2D data.

Design Methodology: -

To create a 3D model of a sheet metal bracket I have followed below described design methodology

Given 2D data

Description: -

Sketch: - This commmand used to create a 2D sketch

Contour Flange: - It used to extrude sketch perpendicularly with defined thickness and length

Normal cutout: - It used to remove the some portion of the shet metal part

Break Corner: - It used to give a blend or a chamfer to the sharp corner edges

Unbend: -This commmand used to flatten the part to do some complex operation which isn't possible in it's original position

Rebend: - It used to bring part in it's original position that has been flatten using unbend command

Advance Flange: - This command used to create a flane across non linear curve

Hole: - Hole command used to provide mountinng holes for brcket

Gusset: - Gusset is used to stiffen the sheet metal part. It can be give at the bend of the sheet metal part

Flat Pattern: - It used to create 2D data of a sheet metal part for the manufacturing purpose

Conclusion: -

This project helps me in understanding the design methodology used to design such shet metal part.

Knowledge of various tools of NX sheet metal workbench I got doing this project
