Objective: The objective of the project is to create a sheetmetal bracket from existing dimensions provided within a separate drawing sheet and to learn new features.
Introduction: The sheetmetal component is designed from pre existing dimensions. New features like the gusset and advanced flange is studied.
Design Methodology:
Description:
The front view of the component is sketched first using the dimensions given in the drawing sheet, including the required holes. Next the side profile of the sketch is drawn perpendicular to the first sketch, which is used to create the contour flange. The first sketch is then used to create a normal cutout to the flange step by step. The component is unbended to add an additional hole at a bend and then rebended. The corners are rounded using break corner. The advanced flange feature is then applied to the top edge of the component. This feature is used for edges that are not straight or have a curvature. Then the component is unbended again to create more standard holes. An elliptical hole is also created. The component is rebended again. An advanced flange is also given to the elliptical hole. The gusset feature is added at the inner bends at the bottom of the component to strengthen the bend. This completes the modelling of the component.
