Advanced Sheet Metal Design Using NX Cad Challenge_7_ Metal bracket-II
Title of the Project:
Advanced Sheet Metal Design Using NX Cad
Objective:
Design of Metal Bracket-II using Siemens NX Sheet metal application
Introduction:
Sheet Metal -Sheet metal is used in automobile and truck (lorry) bodies, airplane fuselages and wings, medical tables, roofs for buildings (architecture), and many other applications. Sheet metal is metal formed by an industrial process into thin, flat pieces. Sheet metal is one of the fundamental forms used in metalworking, and it can be cut and bent into a variety of shapes. Countless everyday objects are fabricated from sheet metal.
NX, formerly known as "Unigraphics", is an advanced high-end CAD/CAM/CAE, which has been owned since by Siemens PLM Software.
Design Methodology:
Description:
- First of all, the desired sketch is created then contour flange is applied to that sketch with the width of 158 mm and thickness of 3 mm.
- Again, the desired sketches are created then normal cutout command is applied to cut undesired shapes.
- Break command is applied wherever desired with the desired radius.
- Unbend the model.
- Then circle of diameter 12.5 mm is created then normal cutout is applied to it.
- Rebend the model.
- Advanced Flange is applied to the upper edge with the following parameters,
Length = 5mm,
Angle = 90 degree,
Length reference = Inside,
Inset = Material inside.
- Unbend the model.
- Again, the advanced Flange is applied to the sketch created.
- Two simple holes with 6 mm diameter are created.
- Rebend the model.
- Gusset command is applied 4 times to create the desired shape.
