Objective: The objective of this project is to create a sheetmetal bracket by using pre specified dimensions.
Introduction: The sheetmetal bracket is designed using the dimensions already given within the drawing sheet of the same component. New features such as the local radius and measure length are looked into.
Design Methodology:
Description:
First the contour for the component is sketched according to the dimensions that are already specified. The contuor flange feature is used to create the extrusion of the contour. A normal cutout is given to the component. Next the corners are rounded using the break corner feature, specifying the radii of the rounded corners. Then the sheetmetal is flattened using the unbend feature. This is necessary to apply the bead feature. The bead is modelled on the flat plate by specifying its dimensions. The component is rebended and the standard holes are added to it. The measure distance feature is used to measure the length accurately between two points, such as between the centre of two holes. The flat pattern showing the bend angles and radii is created and drafted into the drawing sheet.

Conclusion: The Sheet metal bracket was designed in NX CAD successfully. New features like local radius analysis and measuer distance were used.
