Advanced Sheet Metal Design Using NX Cad Odd Shaped Enclosure.

Objective :-

To design a Odd shaped enclosure model with the help of NX cad sheet metal.

Introduction :-

Sheet metal is formed by a industrial process into thin and flat pieces. It everyday countless and fabricated from sheet metal. Thickness can vary significantly extremely thin sheet are consider foil or leaf and piece thicker than 6mm are considered plate steel. We can also convert solide models then sheet metal components and create sheet metal parts that enclosure other component.

NX sheet metal provide set of tools with the NX design environment that allows for simple and fast design of sheet metal parts dependent of their material and manufacturing process. So in the project i am going to design a box assembly by sheet metal model.

Methodology :-

Description :-

1. The sketching and extruding; step for we will create a base sketch and we will do extrude of it upto 200mm.

2. Sheet metal in solid; In this procedure we will solid body with sheet metal that means we will convert extrude body into 3mm sheet metal body.

3. Flange; Now added 20mm and 90 degree flange on the body.

4. Jog; After that we have to create jog line for adding jog feature.

5. Unbend; Now in this step we will unbend the sheet metal part.

6. Bead; The model we create a bead of 3mm of depth.

7. Hole; Create the hole for 10 mm through body.

8. Rebend; Next step to rebend the part of the model.

9. Flat pattern; We will do create flat pattern and highlight the bend direction bend radius and bend angle.
