Advanced Sheet Metal Design Using NX Cad Challenge_1_Casing Design
OBJECTIVE
Creating sheet metal casing or model using NX cad.
Introduction NX Sheet Metal Design provides the design professional with a complete set of tools to efficiently create and manage sheet metal parts based on the knowledge of material properties and manufacturing processes. NX Sheet Metal Design tools incorporate material and bending information, enabling the model to represent both the formed component and flattened blank shapes.
METHODOLGY
- Using Tab command for base of model.
- using normal cutout and draw rectangle one side of tab rectangle and cut out.
- then create the line 10mm apart from both side, now providing bend command to bend sheet meatal by selecting lines.
- Then adding flanges on both ends of sheetmetal, 5 mm on cutout sideand 10 mm on other side. And also use breaking corner to create fillet on sharp edges.
- Using holes command to crated holes on flange part.
- Now creating bead on base sheet select bead command click on skech and draw a circle on base sheet of given dimensions.
- Using bend and unbend command for user convient or to perform cutout or any operation.
- Using dimple command for flower type center sketch.
DESCRIPTION
SKETCH:- It is abasic of any design.
TAB:- it is used to create base feature of a sheet metal.
FLANGE:-It is used to create a extended part of a sheet metal.
UNBEND:- This feature is used to unbent the sheet metal taking any one face as a stationary face.
REBEND:- used to rebend the sheet metal.
DIMPLE:- Used to create pitch up or pitch down surface.
BEAD:- Used for giving strength to the sheet metals.
NORMAL CUTOUT:- It is used to make a normal cavity in a sheet metal.
