WIND FLOW OVER A BICYCLE

AIM:
1.To Plot a graph between Velocity Vs Drag force
2.To Plot a graph between Drag Co-efficient vs Drag force

OBJECTIVE: To monitor the windflow over a bicycyle.

SOFTWARE: MATLAB R2019B

OBSERVATION:
1. What happens when velocity changes (1 - 10 M/S^2) when co-efficient drag is constant (We taken the values of steam lined body 0.04)?
2. What happens when co-efficient drag varies (steam lined body, steamlined half body ,halfshpere , sphere , cone, angle cube, long cyclinder, cube and short cylinder) (Values are [0.04 0.09 0.42 0.47 0.50 0.8 0.82 1.05 1.15]) and Velocity is constant (8 M/S^2)?

INTROUDCTION & FORMULA UNITS:

DRAG FORCE:
A drag force is the resistance force caused by the motion of a body through a fluid, such as water or air. A drag force acts opposite to the direction of the oncoming flow velocity. This is the relative velocity between the body and the fluid.

Fd = 1/2 CdρAV^2

Where:

C is the drag coefficient, which can vary along with the speed of the body. But typical values range from 0.4 to 1.0 for different fluids (such as air and water)

ρ is the density of the fluid through which the body is moving. Unit: Kg/M^3

v is the speed of the body relative to the air. Unit: M/S

A is the projected cross-sectional area of the body perpendicular to the flow direction (that is, perpendicular to v). Unit: M^2

LEARNING FROM THE TASK:
1. We observed that when velocity increase and drag force increase
2. We observe when drag force increase co efficient increase

Graph:

CONCLUSION:
We learned and observe the drag force observation inputing values and observe by plotting the graph.
