To mesh an cylinder by Advanced CFD Meshing using ANSA.
Objective:
To mesh an cylinder by Advanced CFD Meshing using ANSA.
Procedure:
1. Import CAD geometry.
2. Geometry checkup and Simplification.
3. Setting up PIDS.
4. Generating Mesh.
Import CAD geometry:
- Open ANSA software and write performance_mode 3 in the other Additional ANSA command arguments in the popup window.
- Import the cylinder part for meshing.
- Click on Shadow icon to see full object. Change ENT(entity mode) from bottom tool bar to PID (property ID) icon.
Geometry checkup and Simplification:
- Go to Quality Criteria at top tool bar>go to presentation parameters and tick on draw CON in PID, MLD option to make the model edges in yellow color which is different from model color.
- Go to Check>gemometry>execute to see if the model has any errors or not.
Setting up PIDS:
- Select cross hatches icon at bottom and then select the edges middle click on mouse button and go to new to assign name to it double click on it to assign or glow the bulb icon symbol. Repeat these steps for all the faces of the model and assign different names to it and make sure bulb icon is glowing.
Generating Mesh:
- Go to MESH at right tool bar side. Select perimeters set Length of the node size by selecting the whole model. To measure node length click on measure icon at top.
- Start Meshing by selecting SPOT MESH in MESH GENERATION check the bottom of the screen having the operation list in that select Element type TRIA. Select the whole model middle click on the mouse to conform your selection and thus MESH is created.
- Finally go to check by selecting checks manager>surface check execute and thus the cylinder is meshed by using ANSA.
Conclusion:
SPOT mesh with TRIA was successfully performed and checked up of the cylinder in Advanced CFD by using Ansa.
