Surface wrapping for Engine, Transmission and Gearbox using ANSA

OBJECTIVE

The main intention of this challenge is to surface wrap the given model - Engine, Transmission unit, Gearbox and merging this three-part into a single volume model.

WHAT IS SURFACE WRAPPING

surface wrapping is a technique used make the surface of the complicated CAD model to generate mesh over the surface of the wrap which copies the surface the cad model or being to difficult to generate the meshing the cad model with extensive CAD cleanup.

PROCEDURE

• Importing the model

By importing the given three models into workspace clearing surface TOPO errors on it.

• Wrapping the model

Wrapping the given model using Wrap in the mesh module and element length parameter given,

    • Engine wrapping

• After wrapping the cad model in such a way that these model to merged together as one part model with combined one volume.
  • Tools used to combine the model as one volume
    • • paste
      • fill elements
      • feature angle
      • swap
      • split
      • release- used for wrapped element bounds to make the double bound into single bound
      • move surface

CONCLUSION

Thus the Given three Cad model of Engine, Transmission, Gearbox have combined as single volume integrated with the surface wrapping.
