Sunseeker Predator Yacht Assembly and Rendering
Objective:
Design, Assembly and Photo realistic rendering of Sunseeker predator Yacht in Solidworks software.
Steps Followed to create Yacht model and Assembly:
First created the Blue prints setup by importing pictures of yacht using the sketch picture option in sketch tools and then modelled the parts of yacht which are Propeller, Radar, Hull, Garage door, Front, Middle & Rear seats, Superstructure and Radar Mast.
Propeller : we used Revolve and Loft options to get the required shape of propeller blade then added the fillets to get the curved shape of blade then used the circular pattern to get the remaining blades, later added appearances.
Propeller: Radar:
Radar : For creating the Radar model we used Boss extrude, cut extrude, Fillets and sketch pattern options. First created the half of the model and then used mirror option to get remaining half portion. Finally used split line option to add the name on the Radar later added colors.
Hull : Sketching geometry is created using the Blueprints setup and used surface options like surface loft, surface fill, surface trim, surface knit. Different types of planes are created to sketch the required geometry for examples plane using reference plane, Plane using a point and line, Plane using line and face etc. Also used combine curve option to get the desired shape. Added the decals for the Deck surface, stair area, Entrance areas and in Garage area using photoview 360. Finally added the appearances.
Garage Door : Used the exported body from the Hull part and removed the extra portion using Cut extrude and then used shell option to get the required shape, later added the fillets and created the holes. Finally added colors.
Front, Middle & Rear seats: To create the models of seats used the Hull model deck surface as the reference surface and used surface options and the part model options to get the required shapes as in Blueprints. Finally added colors.
Front Seat: Middle Seat:
Rear Seat:
Superstructure : To create this model used the Hull model deck surface as the reference surface. Sketching geometry is created using the Blueprints setup and used surface options like surface extrude, surface loft, surface fill, Ruled surface, surface exend, surface trim, surface knit to get the required shape also used part features. Finally added colors.
Radar Mast : Imported the top surface of the superstrucure as interface surface to creae Radar mast part, Sketching geometry is created using the Blueprints setup. using Boss extrude, Exrude cut, Revolve options to create the desired shape. Finally added colors.
Assembly creation : After the creation of all above parts we have started assembly of Yacht with Hull part, second we imported superstructure part which will fix auomatically as it is created using the Hull deck surface as base interface surface, third part we called was Radar mast which also fix automatically as the base interface surface is from superstructure. In fourth and fifth steps we called Front seat and Middle seats which also fixed auomatically as these are created using the Hull deck surface as base interface surface. In Sixth step called up the Rear seat, to assemble the Rear seat used the Coincident and Distance mates. Next called Garage Door, Propellers models these are fixed using coincident and concentric mates. Next called up Radar which was placed on top of the Radar mast using coincident and concentric mates which completes the assembly of the Yacht.
