YACHT- A yacht is a watercraft used for pleasure or sports .The term originates from the dutch word jacht (which means “hunt”, and originaly refrenced light, fast sailing vessels that the dutch republic navy used to pursue pirates and other transgressors around & into the shallow waters of the low countries . The yacht was popularized by charles II of England as a pleasure or recreation vessel following his restoration in 1660.

Today’s Yachts are almost exclusively for leisure. A yacht is any sail or power vessel used for pleasure, cruising or racing.

Types-

  1. Day sailing yachts
  2. Weekender yachts
  3. Cruising yacht
  4. Luxury sailing yachts
  5. Racing yachts

Feature that I have learnt while moddling & assembling yacht. All surfaces tool like-

1.Extruded surfaces 2.Boundary surfaces 3.Revolved surfaces

4.Filled surfaces 5.Swept surfaces 6.Lofted surfaces

7.Offset surfaces 8.Ruled surfaces 9.Delete Face

10.Extend surfaces 11.Trim surface 12.Knit surface

13.Thicken 14.Insert part 15.Dome

16.Combine 17.Split 18.Split entities and many other basics tool which I previously learnt while modelling American chopper.

Parts that are involved in making a whole yacht-

  1. Propeller
  2. Hull
  3. Radar
  4. Radar mast
  5. Garage door
  6. Middle Seat
  7. Front seat
  8. Rear seat
  9. Superstructure & some decals for floor

HULL – A hull is the watertight body of a ship or boat. The Hull may open at the top (such as dinghy), or it may be fully or partially covered with a deck. A top the deck may be a deckhouse and other superstructures, such as a funnel , derrick , or mast . The line where the hull meets the water surface is called the water line.

PROPELLER- A propeller is a type of fan that transmits power by converting rotational motion into thrust. A pressure difference is produced between the forward and rear surfaces of the air foil –shaped blades, and fluid ( such as air or water ) is accelerated by the pressure . In ship propeller works by thrusting a coloumn of water away from the main body of the ship , thereby producing , reactive force that move the boat forward. Propeller blades work in water much llike fan blades work in air.

RADAR- Marine radars are the best collision avoidance system ever developed for the recreational boater. Radar systems let you “see” through darkness , fog and stormy weather conditions once used only on large vessels , Radar units are now compact, Draw little electricity and are sized to fit boats as small as 5.5m in length.

\"\"

\"\"

RADAR MAST-Its purpose include carrying sail, spars and derricks , and giving necessary height to a navigation light , look out position , signal yard , control position , radio aerial or signal lamp. large ships have several masts with the size and configuration depending on the style of ship nearly all sailing masts are guyed.

\"\"

\"\"

SUPERSTRUCTURE- In yacht & ship this is the name given to the part of the ship that emerges from the deck. However any mast , sails any armaments or arsenals are not included in this category.

The size of the superstructure has a great influence on the mobility of the vessels. They add value and hinder the speed and mobility in the least. The superstructure is mostly designed in fashion as well.

This is because it is the most esily visible part of the ship, in fact it is the identification of yacht & ships and so the designers try to provide it with identity that is unique.
