BUILD THE SI ENGINE BASIC MODEL USING GT POWER TOOL
1.Run the case at 1800 rpm and list down important parameters:-
- air flow rate & BSFC
Air Fuel rate [kg/h] = 24.6
BSFC [g/KW-h] = 239.2 means to generate 1KW of power we required 239.2grams of fuel uesd.
- In-cylinder pressure
In-cylinder pressure [bar] = 48.89
- BMEP
BMEP [bar] = 9.5
2. Increase the power output at 3600 rpm by 10%:-
The power output when we run the engine at 3600 rpm
The following are the methods to increase the power output
- By Changing the A-F Ratio
- By Increasing CR
- By Increasing the Cylinder Bore and stroke.
We achive the required power output by increasing the Cylinder Bore & Stroke
Bore [mm] = 88
Stroke [mm] = 90
Connecting Rod Length [mm] = 175
Output
BP [Kw] = 18.3
Changing Cylinder Bore and Stroke
Increase output:-
As we changing the Cylinder Bore and Stroke, Air will admit to cylinder increases than automatically the power output will be increased beacuse the volume of the cylinder will be icreased due to this more amount of air admit to the cylinder for the cobustion process.
