NX Bracket design
Design of Bracket using NX
Introduction:
- Sheet metal is metal formed by an industrial process into thin, flat pieces. Sheet metal is one of the fundamental forms used in metalworking, and it can be cut and bent into a variety of shapes. Countless everyday objects are fabricated from sheet metal. Thicknesses can vary significantly; extremely thin sheets are considered foil or leaf, and pieces thicker than 6 mm (0.25 in) are considered plate steel or \"structural steel\".
- Sheet metal is available in flat pieces or coiled strips. The coils are formed by running a continuous sheet of metal through a roll slitter.
- The sheet metal application provides an environment for the sheet metals used in Machinery, Automotive, Aerospace etc..
- We can develop enclosures, brackets and other parts by brake press.
- Convert to Sheetmetal is used to convert the null body or any part imported into sheet metal.
- It is done using ripping edges and cleaning up geometry.
- Beads are provided to give additional strength to the sheet metal.
- Flat pattern is used to know the area of cross-section of the sheet metal part.
Design methodology:
Description:
Counter flange:
Used to create a flange through a sketch in a given direction.
Normal cutout:
It is used to remove the material through the required sketch.
Break corner:
It is used to apply fillet to the edges of the sheet metal.
Unbend:
Used to flatten the sheet metal on give base surface.
Bead:
It is used to create a stamping effect inside or to outside of the sheet metal.
Hole:
It creates a hole of required dia on the selection of the location of the point.
Rebend:
It is used to get the sheet metal to its original shape after bending it.
Flat-Pattern:
It is used to create a flat surface on the selection of base surface which can be used for the drawings.
