Model of Electric Bell and Thermistor controlled by Fan
SIMULINK MODEL OF DOORBELL USING SOLENOID BLOCK
CIRCUIT BUILDING:
This circuit represents the model of Electric bell.Electric circuit is to be started from reference(Gnd) point in which is placed first.Solenoid acts as The Electromagnet in which it mechanical part (fe) is wounded by the coil to induce the magnetic field,It is connected to electric switch. The positive side of the battery is connected to the switch and then to solenoid and terminates at negative part of the battery.
The solenoid is connected to motion sensor The motion part is connected to the Input of the motion sensor and common point(Casing) is connected to the motion sensors common point and output of motion sensor is connected to the scope to know the relationship of the position Vs Time.Velocity of the solenoid can also be taken, not necessary in the case.
Since there is a solenoid acting, mechanical reference is to be given to which simulink can understand.Solver is to be attached with the reference part to clear the equation which are of logical calculations for the circuit to solve its calculations.During the output from motion sensor will Physical State in which the scope will be of simulink state to translate the signal PS-Simulink convertor is used. And when the condition is vice-versa Simulink-PS Convertor is used.
WORKING:
Signal Builder can be used to generate the signal as per the need we able to modify the input, but in this case situation is that the switch is closed for 2 seconds and then released, the physical movement of the plunger is to be observed.so input is modified for 2 Seconds.
MOTION SENSOR INPUT:
The input to the sensor unit is the position which is to be sensed and so the initial length from the bell to the hammer which strikes.
OUTPUT OF THE SOLENOID:
The output of the solenoid gives the case requirement of the hammer to strike the bell for the 2 seconds input signal which is derived.

THERMISTOR TO SENSE THE TEMPERATURE OF A HEATER
Temperature source:
- 20 °C from 0 to 10 seconds,
- 27 °C from 10 to 30 seconds,
- 23 °C from 30 to 50 seconds.
Fan conditions:
- ON if the temperature above 25 °C,
- OFF otherwise
CIRCUIT MODEL:
The above model is split into 2 Circuits in which one generates output based on the input by the case and the circuit 2 Controls the fan motor by the output from circuit 1.
CIRCUIT 1:
Circuit 1 generates output based on the input by the case
INPUT SIGNAL BY SIGNAL BUILDER:
- 20 °C from 0 to 10 seconds,
- 27 °C from 10 to 30 seconds,
- 23 °C from 30 to 50 seconds.
Is sent from the signal builder and sent to the controlled heat source, the controlled heat source is in contact with the Thermal reference and the solver as basic rule, in which from output of the controlled heat source sent using Simulink-PS Convertor and output is connected to the thermistor, the positive is connected to the battery’s positive terminal and it is connected to series with a known resisitor and complete the circuit with negative terminal being in conatct with GND.tHE Voltmeter is connected in parallel with the circuit 1 between input and output of known resistor to calculate the voltage across.
The output signal is sent to Circuit 2
CIRCUIT 2:
The output from circuit 1 is sent to the switch with the if else in which the data is to be fed. The switch is instructed with the signal 1 if the input signal is more than the threshold value the signal is allowed to pass through.
THRESHOLD DATA:
Since simulink switch is used it is unable to accept by the battery or the simscape switch so convertor is used to modify the data to the simscape switch and then it is connected to the positive side of universal motor(Fan), and the circuit is closed with negative terminal of the battery and the positive to the switch and circuit is closed.
The motion sensor is used to detect the velocity and angular displacement by the motor the rotor part is connected to R conserving port and casing to C conserving point commonly known as Common point which the common point is connected to the Mechanical rotation reference to which again as a solver is used since this is another separate circuit. And oscilloscope is used to generate the signal data from the motion sensor to the relationship between the Time and Signal data i.e, fan to be started and turned off. Universal motor is to be damped with friction as 1, Otherwise the motor will be set in motion unless , damping or external force is applied on it as friction.
RESULT:
The result depicts that the fan is turned on when it is above the temperature of 25c with the input relevant data at the signal is 1, is 27c.And turns off when temperature dips.
