INTRODUCTION:
Solidworks is a modeling software in Computer Aided Design and Engineering (CAD and CAE). It has many other software available like Solidwork visualize Solidwork electrical, solidwork composer and more.
In Solidworks, there many command sections available individually for featuring, sketching, evaluating, rendering, visualizing. The commands used, are shown in a separate column called Feature tree.
Yacht is a fast, stylish and leisure kind of watercraft. There are many types of yacht, according to their use. Usually, yacht is a luxurious water body transport. We have designed with hull, a long luxurious yacht.
PROCEDURE:
Here, we have taken a blueprint as our reference for modelling the yacht. The blueprint is individually kept as a file. For the parts, the blueprints have been taken as reference on the background. The rendering is done after the completion of modelling.
HULL:
Hull is the base part of yacht. Hull determines the entire shape of yacht, while other parts are kept rested on that. It is the biggest part of all. The surfaces are covered with the wooden decals. Many features have been used here. Some of them are,
- Projected curve,
- Lofted surface,
- Trim surface,
- Extruded surface,
- Knit surface,
- Shell,
- Sweep boss/base,
- Extrude boss/base,
- Extrude cut,
- Fillet and
- Chamfer.
SUPER STRUCTURE:
Super structure is the upper portion of the yacht that consists of swimming pool, radar and transmission mast. It also consists of front seat near the swimming pool. It gives the leisure look for the yacht. Some features used here are,
- Extruded surface,
- Knit surface,
- Fillet,
- Ruled surface,
- Swept surface,
- Trim surface,
- Filled surface,
- Lofted surface,
- Projected curve,
- Extend surface,
- Extruded boss/base and
- Extrude cut.
FRONT SEAT:
Front seat is located in the front of superstructure. It is placed on the hull. Some of the features used here are,
- Swept surface,
- Extruded surface,
- Trim surface,
- Filled surface,
- Lofted surface,
- Revolved surface,
- Knit surface,
- Chamfer,
- Fillet,
- Mirror, and
- Dome.
MIDDLE SEAT:
It is located in the backside of super structure, placed on the hull. It is comparatively simple in modelling. The shape of this seat gives comfort and be spacious. The features used here are,
- Extruded boss/base,
- Extrude cut,
- Mirror,
- Chamfer and
- Fillet.
REAR SEAT:
It is located on the rear end of yacht and hull. It also consists of flag and a protective bar. The features used here are,
- Swept surface,
- Offset surface,
- Trim surface,
- Knit surface,
- Ruled surface,
- Extruded surface,
- Extend surface,
- Extrude cut,
- Chamfer and
- Fillet.
PROPELLER:
Propeller is a located under the body of hull. It is used to convert the thrust produced by engine, and to help the yacht in its motion. The features used here are,
- Revolved boss/base,
- Lofted boss/base,
- Extrude cut,
- Fillet and
- Circular driven pattern.
RADAR MAST:
Radar mast is used in transmitting the signals to shore and to receive any sort alerts regarded with the position of yacht. The features used here are,
- Extruded boss/base,
- Revolved boss/base,
- Swept boss/base,
- Mirror,
- Projected curve,
- Chamfer,
- Fillet,
- Dome and
- Shell.
ASSEMBLY:
Here, we assemble all created part respectively. We use many relations and mates to assemble the parts properly in their best place. The rendering is done with all the parts assembled together.
