MESHING A CYLINDER

OBJECTIVE :

The objective of the project is to mesh the model of a cylinder using ANSA software. The element size of the mesh shall be 1 unit. Another aim is to get familiarized with the software.

Steps For Meshing:

• Import the file form the system to ANSA software.
• It will be in the wire frame mode so OPN--Turn on Shadow mode.
• Change from Entity mode to PID mode.
• Each part has been set new names accordingly.
• Quality Criteria--Presentation Parameters--Click CONS in visualization box so as to see the boundary line in yellow colour.
• Execute Check and make sure part is ready for mesh.

Meshing In Detail

• Since the objective is to mesh the surface for 1 unit. The mode is selected as Entity mode to PID mode.
• Change modules to mesh.
• Perimeter--Length--Select all edges and give length parameter as 1unit.
• Check measure by selecting two nodes to find the leght of the mesh.
• Mesh Generation--Spot Mesh--Element type TRIA--Reconstruct as tick.
• Select the surface to be meshed and click middle button to be meshed.

CONCLUSION :

The cylinder model was meshed with the element size as 1 unit. The result has been displayed above. The unit size displayed using the inbuilt measure fuction of ANSA is 1 unit that all nodes are balanced.
