Interfaces and Its Types

OBJECTIVE:

To add suitable connectors to the bumper mesh provided.

To compare the various differences between type 7 and 11 contact interfaces with and without notches. The differences in Rigid wall forces, Internal Energy and Contact Energy is to be compared.

PROCEDURE:

The bumper mesh file was firstly added with connectors. Suitable connectors as per the mesh connections were given.

Moving on to task 2, the crush tube experiment.

Kindly find the report of the crush tube experiment attached along with the inferences.

LEARNING OUTCOME:

This assignment has taught me about interfaces and the importance of them. It has taught me that there various available options to choose from and depending on the crash scenario the best property can be chosen.

RESULT:

The differences between type 7 and 11 contact interfaces with and without notches were compared and noted. The differences in Rigid wall forces, Internal Energy and Contact Energy were all a part of the comparison. Each type has its own advantages and disadvantages, the option purely depends on the application\'s requirement.
