How to design and assemble Chopper using Solidworks
Photo Realistic Rendering using Solidworks:
Chopper Parts I have rendered using Solidworks are as below:
- Chain
- Oil tank
- Pedal part
- Rear Fender
- Rear Wheel
- Front Wheel
- Front Fender
- Kickstand Part
- Chassis
- Engine
- Front fork
- Gas tank
- Transmission Belt
- First inorder to create a photo render to the chopper we have to adjust it in a way such that the when we apply the renders Chopper should be resting its both tyres on the surface and as well as its Kickstand.
- In order to do as per the above statements we have to add tangent mate to the front wheel of the chopper and top plane. Similarly, we have to add the tangent mate between Rear wheel and Top plane of the assembly.
- Change the curve of the kickstand and make the necessary adjustments in the sketch of Kickstand so that when we apply the renders it shows that the Chopper is resting on its kickstand part which makes visualise the live model.
- Then go to a particular either from any side so that all the parts in the chopper are visible as shown below.
Fig-1: Image of the Chopper assembly after applying the renders
- The above image is one of the renders that I have applied to Chopper and I am also going to add more images and explain about it the same.
- First we have to switch our view into perspective view so that Chopper looks far from the camera and then goto view>Lights and camera> Add camera.
- When we are adding a camera we have many options like focusing on the object we can also adjust the distance between camera and the chopper, the focal point or centre point of the camera which is going to focus on the chopper.
- After applying all the features add the add-in from tools option in the menu and select Photoview 360.
- We can edit the scenes applied to the part files like background, environmet and reflections for the metal parts which gives you the realistic look of the parts or assembly.
- We can also make the output file size ration 16:9 which is nothing but JPEG quality of 1920x1380 inorder to pixelise the photo and all select the bloom, design caustics from the options menu.
- Repeat the above steps for all the files designed and apply the background as it highlights the part file in the image.
- Below are the images which I have rendered using photoview360.

- As we can see that fig-1 and fig-15 of the Assembled chopper and rendered it with different colors on how to get the complete idea about how to do Photo realsitic renders using Photoview 360 Add-on in Solidworks.
