Geometry Cleanup Exercise Assignment 1

OBJECTIVE:

To carry out the geometry clean-up operation on the given 3 components

PROCEDURE:

First, we need to import the given components into the hypermesh
After this unnecessary surface are deleted and toggle the red edges by going to quick edit panel gaps were need to be closed
Intersecting surfaces are to be trimmed by pressing Shif+F9 selecting trim surfaces
Next step is to create midsurface we need to create auto-midsurface by going to > geometry > auto midsurface > skin offset option
Then midsurface is cleaned such as toggle edge fillets less than 3.5mm and holes less than 5mm diameter is filled
The midsurface is meshed with element size of 5mm
The meshed elements are checked for quality and mesh flow by going to > Tool > Check elements or 2D > Quality Index
The last step is to assign the thickness to it
