Flow over a cylinder
- The Cylinder Dimension are as follows:-
Dia=0.02 m & Length=0.05 m
- For Flow Simulation Air is used:-
- Dynamic Viscosity of air @ 27 degree C=18.46*10^-6 Pas
- Density of air=1.225 kg/m^3
- Automatic Mesh with 4 level of initial mesh & advance channel refinement is used.
- For Re=20
Using the formula
- Re = rho*U_inlet*D/mu
The velocity comes out as 0.0150 m/s & flow through time is calculated which comes out as 3.33 Sec,So end time is taken as 9 sec
and the animation:-
2. For Re=20
Using the formula
- Re = rho*U_inlet*D/mu
The velocity comes out as 0.03 m/s & flow through time is calculated which comes out as 1.67 Sec,So end time is taken as 5 sec.
and the animation:-
2. For Re=20
Using the formula
- Re = rho*U_inlet*D/mu
The velocity comes out as 0.075 m/s & flow through time is calculated which comes out as 0.67 Sec,So end time is taken as 2 sec.
and the animation:-
Obsevation:-
As the Reynold\'s number increases the flow velocity increases, the region near the cylinder tends to converge as it is evident from the cut plots. The variation of pressure around the cylinder is negligible.
