Dimple using solid punch

Dimple using solid punch model is shown in fig. Dimple is used to give some strength to the part. The flat portion of the part posses less strength & rigidity, so there are higher chances of failure of the part. The dimple adds strength & rigidity to the part & reduces the chances of failure.
