SOLID PUNCH

INTRODUCTION

Solid punch is a feature commonly used in NXCAD software to make the model as per the requirement.

PROCEDURE

This model is created by creating a sketch and making into sheetmetal,again use different datum coordinates as per the required dimensions to make the sketch, extuded it for the dimensions required.Now use the solid punch feature to make the model, use pattern feature to pattern solid punch on the sheetmetal at some distance

TAB

The sketch is created on xy plane, rectancle has been created as per dimension given and the exit the sketch.Choose the tab comment as give the thickness as per required.Thus the tab is created using the sketch.

EXTRUDE

Extrude is created as per the following procedure.Create a sketch which should at a distance of 150mm from the datum coordinates,create the square for extrude.Use the extrude command to extrude the created sketch.Give the dimension as the height and direction for the extrude.

SOLID PUNCH

The solid punch is done on the extrude part,use the solid punch command to create the solid punch on the extrude.

PATTERN FEATURE

The pattern feature is done to create the continuous number of solid punch on the same axis.Pattern feature is created by pattern feature command,in the dialog box click on the the solid punch to selct them and define the axis.

CONCLUSION

Hence the solid punch and patten feature are helpfull in Nxcad.
