Designing, Surface Modelling, Assembly and Photorealistic Rendering of American Chopper Using Solid-Works - 2019

AIM:

To practice and gain knowledge about tools used in solidworks to create model.

To create American Chopper realistic Rendring using solidworks software.

INTRODUCTION:

In this project American Chopper is designed, modeled and assembled using Solidworks 2019 software. American Chopper has different customized parts like fender, wheel, gas tank, etc. All the parts have been designed and modeled using SolidWorks software. It is a cosmetic model.

Rear Wheel:

A sprocket is a profiled wheel with teeth, or cogs, that mesh with a chain, track or other perforated or indented material. Sprockets are used in bicycles, bike, cars, and other machinery either to transmit rotary motion between two shafts where gears are unsuitable or to impart linear motion to a track, tape, etc.

Front Wheel:

In this module, I learned how to design wheel, disk brake rotor, and caliper.

A disc brake is a type of brake that uses calipers to squeeze pairs of pads against a disc or "rotor" to create friction. This action slows the rotation of a shaft, such as a vehicle, either to reduce its rotational speed or to hold it stationary. The energy of motion is converted into waste heat which must be dispersed.

Hydraulically actuated disc brakes are the most commonly used form of brake for motor vehicles, but the principles of a disc brake are applicable to almost any rotating shaft.

Front Fork:

Front fork is a suspension component of the bike. Front-wheel, handlebar, and headlights are attached to the front fork.

Oil-Tank:

Oiltank is an important part of an automobile. In oil tank oil is stored and supplied to the engine for its running. In bike, the oil tank is located above the engine.

Chain:

A chain is an automobile component which transfers power to the driving wheel from engine rotating shaft of a bike, thus propellel it forward.

Pedal:

Chassis:

A chassis is the load-bearing framework of an artificial object, which structurally supports the object in its construction and function. An example of a chassis is a vehicle frame, the underpart of a motor vehicle, on which the body is mounted such as wheels and transmission, driver's seat, etc are included, then the assembly is described as a rolling chassis.

Gas Tank:

Front and Rear Fender:

Fender is the American English term for the part of an automobile body that covers the wheel well. Fronts fender defines fender used for the front wheel & Rear fender defines fender used for the rear wheel. In India, fenders are basically called mud-guard. Its primary goal is to prevent loose object such as mud, sand, liquid, etc from being thrown into the air by the rotating tire. Loose materials stick to the tire surface temporarily and when the tire roll over the ground these materials may get ejected from the surface at high velocity which can damage vehicle surface or injure the person. To prevent this, fenders are provided.

Engine:

An engine is a machine designed to convert one form of energy into mechanical energy like the internal combustion engine, burn a fuel to create heat which is then used to do work.

Transmission Belt:

A Transmission belt is a loop of flexible material which is used to link two or more rotating shaft. the primary purpose of Transmission belt is used to transfer power from one shaft to another efficiently.

Kick Stand:

A kickstand is an automobile part which is used to give support to bike or bicycles while at a stationary position without leaning against other objects. A kickstand is a piece of metal which flips down from the frame and makes contact with the ground. In kickstand, we learn to make dome shape, how to create a reference plane, lofted bose, split feature.

Important Feature Used to Create the Parts:

Revolve, Split, Extrude, Dome, Reference Plane, Loft bose, Shell, Combine, Fillet, Spline, Lines, Mirror, Curve Driven Pattern, Chamfer, Linear Pattern, Extrude cut, Circular Pattern, Sweep, Projected Curve, Pierce, Composite Curve, Surface sweep, Trim, Knit, Lines, Circle, Slot, Rectangle, Merge, Convert entities, 3D Sketch, 2D Sketch
