Creating a Metal bracket from 2D-Drawing part-2

METAL BRACKET

INTRODUCTION

Metal bracket is a sheetmetal design to act as a outer bracket of a sheetmetal,I have created 2d drawing by following various steps

PROCEDURE

Create a sketch as per the requirement and draw a additional sketch inorder to make contour flange asper the dimension. Now use normal cutout feature inorder to make required cutout from the sketch.Unbend the part inorder to make sketches for making hole.Gusset is also made on the part, it is created by plane as reference and shape of the gusset is also decided from the automatic gusset dialog box.Rebend the part by rebend option as the final model as required is obtained.

The above figure describes the basic sketch of the part which is to be created.

CONTOUR FLANGE

The contour flange is created on sketching a new sketch of particular dimension on the datum coordinates.Thickness of the contour flange is 3mm.

UNBEND

Unbend is done inorder make them flat for doing certain opertions.

NORMAL CUTOUT

Normal cutout is done to extract the exact part from the contour flange corresponding to the main sketch created.Normal cutout feature is used on several places to make the part.

BREAK CORNERS

Break corners are used to break the sharp corners of the part.Use the break corners option and mention the corners to smooth, value can be intiated as per the terms.

GUSSETS

Gussets can be created on both ways by manually and automatically.Choose the face and create the plane where the gussets should be created.

HOLES

Holes are created by sketching the circle on face of the part and the diameter of the circle is 6mm.Use the hole command and select the required fields as prescribed for creating the hole.

REBEND

The rebend option is done to regain the orginal position of the part.Use the rebend option to rebend the part.

CONCLUSION

This is how metal bracket is created by 2d drawing in NXCAD
