Conjugate Heat Transfer Analysis on a graphics card
Objective:
Here we are performing conjugate heat transfer analysis for graphic card. Here graphic card is divided into three components namely Core,Base and Fins. Core and fins are placed above base. Here core is the source where heat is generated while operating a PC or a computer. Core need to be cooled inorder for PC working seamlessly, So fins are used to do the work of cooling.Fins has more surface are when the air is blown over the fin due to large surface aresa the core is cooled much faster here we are trying to find out whta would be the temperature distrubution and velocity distrubution and how well the core is cooled and max temperature attained by the core
Case I

Steady state conjugate heat transfer analysis on a model of a graphics card
Setup
General
Steady state,Pressure based Model,Axisymmentric
Models
Energy --> Viscous -->K-Epsilon -->Standard -->Standard Wall Function
Boundary Conditions
Air-Inlet:10m/sec
Material
Core-Gold(Source term added to this) if power of core is 15W then the energy will be 15/64*1e-9=234375000 Base-Alluminium
Fins-Copper
Here we have only one inlet so we can use standard initialiation with inlet as the compute zone
Iterations-600
Results
Average weighted Temperature
Average weighted Velocity
The above graphs helps us to underastand that solution has converged

Case II
Fine Mesh
element size:5e-003
Nodes:33233
Elements:183153
Unlike base line mesh here the element size is reduced along with that proximity capture has been enabled to capture more and accurate data at the walls of graphic card

| Variables | Base Line Mesh | Fine Mesh | Units |
| Core Temperture | 360.2 | 354.8 | K |
| Velocity | 11.92 | 11.76 | m/sec |
| Heat transfer coefficient | 953.4 | 939.5 | W/m2K |
As we can see that there is a huge variation in values between base line mesh and fine mesh so mesh is an important attribute for obtaining a perfect solution.
