Complex gating system

Objective:-

1) Have to create complex gating system for 8 molds using only one sprue.

2) have to create same study as above by using occurrence number.

Procedure:-

1st objective-

Study name “ruler geometry DD”,

Below steps shows how to create 8 molds with one sprue:-

In study named as ruler geometry DD we are going to create complex gating system 8 molds using only one sprue (refer to below image)
Now created 3 nodes which will define path of sprue, runner and gate. In image first node created is for gate, second is for runner and third is for sprue (refer to below images)

Creating sprue

Between last created node i.e. 3^rd and 2^nd node we will create sprue. (in below image respected nodes are circled in red color).
Create sprue by using beam tool in geometry and go into “create as” option and click new button to select sprue option then determine your preferred need for making sprue, for better understanding go through properties given by me shown in below images.
Just click ok button after all properties input.(refer to below image)
We can also give number of beams I have given 10.(refer to below images)

Creating runner

Between red circled nodes in image we will create runner. (refer to below image).
Using beam tool select respected nodes and then click “create as” button for choosing cold runner option.(refer to below images)
click on new button to select runner option.(refer to below image)
In properties of runner I have given various properties for defining runner shape and dimensions please refer to below images for better understanding. (refer to below images).

Creating gate

Gate will be created between runner last node and mold first node shown in below images.
Using beam tool select both nodes and again click on “create as” option then click new button to select gate option.(refer to below images)
Putting values for gate as per our requirement, refer to below image for proper understanding about it.
Clicking ‘ok’ button to all. Then give number of beams required to make gate I have given 5 see in below images.
Gate is create refer to below image.

Creating 8 molds

Now we will make 8 molds with rotate option.
In selction box of rotation select rotate runner, gate and mold.(refer to below images).
Then rotation all selection about y-axis and angle will be 45 (refer to below image).

8 molds with one sprue has been created.

2nd objective-

Study name “ruler geometry DD (copy)”,

Below steps shows how to create same study as above using occurrence number:-

In study named as ‘ruler geometry DD(copy)’ we will use occurrence number.
From above shown study use all steps till ‘creating gate’ (refer to below image).
Now select whole runner with the help of mouse as shown in below image.
Now right click and go into properties as shown in below image then select all runner and click ‘ok’ button as shown in below image.
Now after entering into properties write 8 in occurrence number and click ok button, as shown in below image.
Now do same while selecting gate as shown in below images.
Now do same while selecting mold part as shown in images.

Same study as above using occurrence number has been created.

Learning outcome:-

1) Now able to create sprue, runner, gate properly and also understood how to change properties.

2) know how to use occurrence number intstead of making complex geometry same parts.

conclusion:-

1) After completing this challenge i will be able to properly analysis sprue, runner and gate.

2) understood how to use occurrence number.
