Centrifugal pump design and analysis
Objective :
The aim of this project is to design a centrifugal pump and simulate it for the various velocity by using parametric study and plot the results.
Dimensions of Centrifugal Pump:
1.Rotor blade diameter 50mm to 100mm.
2.Diameter of casing 110mm
3.Thickness of casing 150mm.
4.No. of blades = 6
5.Diameter of inlet suction cylinder is 30mm.
6.Length of the suction pipe is 80mm
7.Diameter of delivery pipe is 10mm
8.Length of delivery pipe is 100mm
9.Shell thickness taken as 1mm
10.Working fluid is water
11.Surface roughness zero.
12.Considered internal flow simulation.
13.Rotational feature considered in this simulation.
Boundary Conditions:
1. Selected environment pressure for inlet pipe.
2.For outlet pipe,outlet velocity assigned 15m/s.
3.A cylindical structure made as rotating region and it covers the impeller completely which has 104mm diameter and 120mm thick.
4.The rotational speed of this region is 1000rad/sec.
Parametric study:
Parametric study conducted for the velocity, that is velocity normal to the face(outlet velocity) taken as 6 values from 15m/sec to 30m/sec as input parameters.output parameters are
1. Total pressure at outlet
2. Total pressure at inlet
3. Cut plots for velocity and pressure
4. Flow trajectories for velocity and pressure
5.Iteration taken as 500.
