Calculation of Drag Force against a vehicle.
AIM:
To write a MATLAB program for calculation of drag force against a cyclist and analyze the plot for
- Velocity Vs Drag force
- Co-efficient of Drag Vs Drag force
FORMULA USED:
`Fd = (rho*A*v^2*Cd)/2`
where,
Fd = Drag force in N.
`rho` = Density of fluid or medium in `(kg)/m^3`
A = Frontal area (of the Vehicle and objects attached to it in contact with the external medium) in `m^2`
V = Velocity of the vehicle in `m/s`
Cd = Drag Co-efficient (no Unit).
THEORY:
A drag force is the resistance force caused by the motion of a body through a fluid, such as water or air. A drag force acts opposite to the direction of the oncoming flow velocity. This is the relative velocity between the body and the fluid.
