 Calculating drag_force aerodynamic objects and program to plot coefficient of drag vs Drag_force.

Calculating drag_force and program to plot coefficient of drag vs Drag_force.

Aim: Plotting C_d vs drag force for different aerodynamics bodies.

What is drag force?

A drag force is the resistance force caused by the motion of a body through a fluid, such as water or air. A drag force acts opposite to the direction of the oncoming flow velocity. This is the relative velocity between the body and the fluid.

Cycalist is moving from one posistion to another position that time he face some resistance force

The International Standard Atmosphere states the density of air is 1.225 kg/m3 at sea level.

We consider in program as 1.2 kg/m^3

Drag force calculated by:

Where,

Rho = Density of air kg/m

a = Area of drag force acting m^2

V = Velocity of moving object m/s^2

Cd = Co-efficient of drag (Note: Its dimensionless quantity means no unit)

Fd = Drag force N

Code explain:

As following image attached with different types of aerodynamics body and another editor, command window, and output of plot.

First Defined a parameter and initial required conditions

Area is constant m^2, Rho as per air density kg/m^3, Velocity is constant

some value assumed for best result

C_d=[0.05, 0.13, 0.09, 0.15]; Drag coefficient changed as per physical aerodynamic object showed in figure

v= velocity are constant m/s^2

Setting up all value & solving it

Through mathematical equation as per above mentioned

all value remains constants except of drag force and velocity are two different value get it

Displaying the result through a graph 2D

C_d vs. Drag force to get graphical representation as output

Conclusion: If coefficient of drag change simultaniously drag force also varies
