Advanced Sheet Metal Design Using NX Cad Challenge 7 Metal bracket-II
METAL BRACKET
OBJECTIVE
• To design a metal bracket using NX sheet metal application as per the given diagram and converting to sheet metal.
INTRODUCTION
Sheet metal is metal formed by an industrial process into thin, flat pieces. Sheet metal is one of the fundamental forms used in metalworking, and it can be cut and bent into a variety of shapes. Countless everyday objects are fabricated from sheet metal. In this project, we are going to model a metal bracket using 2-D data.
METHODOLOGY:
DESCRIPTION:
- SKETCH: it’s a basic drawing in which any kind of operation can be performed, with reference to it.
- CONTOUR FLANGE: it is used to extruded perpendicular to the sketch, define a thickness in the thickness tab.
- GUSSET: It's a sort in the corner(bend region) of sheet metal parts to stiffen the part.
- UNBEND: it’s a command which is used to unbend the sheet metal with respect to a stationary face.
- DIMPLE: used to create pitch down or pitch up on a surface with the help of a sketch.
- REBEND: it's used to bring back the old bends which were bent before.
- BEEDS: used for giving more strength for the sheet metal.
- HOLE: hole command is used to provide mounting holes for the bracket
- BREAK CORNER: it's used to change sharp edges into smooth edges.
