2D Mesh of Sheet metal component

Objective:

For given model that we need follow steps to make 2D mesh. Clear the geometry of the model, extract midsurface of the model and make 2D mesh on the midsurface.

Procedure:

• Import the model and check the geomtry of the model to remove the unwanted surface, plane and line which are present in it by using visualiztion tool.
• There it show the presence of unwanted things in that model.
• clean or Delete those unwanted surface,plane, and line without affecting the model geometry.
• Then extract the midsurface from the geomtry cleaned model using midsurface tool.
• After extraction check that midsurface have any small fillets, hole dia less than 6 to 5 mm.
• Eliminate those fillets and holes using defeature tool because they cause issue while making mesh.
• After clean the midsurface geometry then select it and make 2D mesh on it
• In that mesh element should maintained with in the limit which is provided. For that do remesh until good mesh obtain by check the mesh element quality.
• Then create generic property for the midsurface and take snap shot of the mesh element.

Conclusion:

The 2D mesh for the given model\'s are done by the steps which followed above.I upload the mesh which did for yur reference. 2D mesh is mainly used for plastic parts, sheet metal parts etc.
