Objective
To perform a simple Tensile and Torsion Test on the Standard tensile test specimen and find out the following results by providing a displacement of 18mm in tensile test & a rotational twist of 1200°.
Case Setup
Results
Case1. TENSILE TEST
Equivalent Stress: Max. Equivalent Stress = 609.92MPa
Total Deformation: Max. Total Deformation = 18 mm
Temperature of the Specimen: Max. Temperature = 265 degrees
Case2. TORSION TEST
Equivalent Stress: Max. Equivalent Stress = 572.4 MPa
Total Deformation: Max. Total Deformation = 10.433 mm
Temperature of the Specimen: Max. Temperature = 440.97 degrees
Summary
Results of both the cases shows that the boundary condition is well executed in the simulation i.e. In tensile test body is displaced by 18 mm & in Torsion test specified rotation is achieved. Equivalent stress results shows the reiteration of standardized practical results of Tensile and Torsion test. While Temperature of the specimen shows the expected results, as the portion where the most yielding occurs resulted in highest temperature points.
