Week 9-Challenge

Objective:

To Create connector and Attach the various parts of the given model as shown below.

Procedure:

1) Import the given model in the hypermesh, initially it will be displayed as wireframe model shown below.

2) The surface highligther icon is pressed to view the surface of the given model as shown in the below image.

3) Then each and every component is separately taken and other components are hidden as shown below.

4) After that, the components are separately subjected to midsurfacing as shown in the below image.

5) After midsurfacing is done, the components are subjected to 2D meshing separately as shown in the below image.

6) Right_Rail_2 & Front_truss_1:- Seam-Quad(angled+capped+L)

7) Left_Rail_2 & Front_truss_1:- Quad elements

8) Front_truss_2, Front_truss_1 & Right_Rail_1:- Spot weld with 3 Layers and 5 mm Diameter

9) Front_truss_2, Front_truss_1 & Left_Rail_1:- Hexa (Adhesive)

10) Rear_truss_2 & Right_Rail_2:- Bolt Connector

11) Rear_truss_2 & Left_Rail_2:- Bolt Connector

12) Right_Rail_1 & Right_Rail_2:- Spot-weld with Rigid Elements

13) Left_Rail_1 & Left_Rail_2:- Spot-weld with Spring Elements

14) Rest all the components left are Joined them with suitable connectors and meshing is corrected where it is changed due to the connectors.

Conclusion:

The given model frame is connected with the different connectors among their different components present as per the criteria given in the project. Initially the model is subjected to midsurfacing, 2D meshing and finally the connectors are applied and meshing are corrected in the necessary placed where it has changed due to connectors. The images of the final model are given below and the hypermesh file is attached as a zip file.
