Tabulated Results:
| Case | Material | Youngs Modulus | Max Equivalent stress(MPa) | Total Deformation(mm) |
| 1 | Structural Steel | 2e05 MPa | 1749 | 38.637 |
| 2 | Stainless Steel | 1.93e05 MPa | 1694.1 | 38.637 |
| 3 | Titanium Alloy | 96000 MPa | 859.9 | 38.637 |
Inference:
Young’s modulus is a measure of the ability of a material to withstand changes in length when under lengthwise tension or compression. Higher the Youngs modulus, higher will be the materials resistance to change in its dimensions under tension or compression. From the above table we see that as the Young's modulus is reduced the stress generated in the material is reduced. Titanium alloys are alloys that contain a mixture of titanium and other chemical elements. They are light in weight, have extraordinary corrosion resistance and the ability to withstand extreme temperatures. Springs that are needed to operate at high temperatures need to be made from titanium alloy. We can see that total deformation for all three cases is same because all the parameters and constraints are same for them.
