Inference : As the frictional coefficient is increased from 0 to 0.1 to 0.2 the stress in cam follower increases. The reason for this is reactional frictional force caused due to the relative movement between barrel cam and cam follower. This reactional force adds on to the existing translational force and generates stress. To reduce the generated stress the surface between cam follower and barrel cam needs to be as smooth as possible to reduce the coefficient of friction.
