1D Connections for the Rear Door model using ANSA

AIM: To implement the proper connections for given meshed model (Rear door model) .

KEYWORDS: Spot weld, Spot line, CONMi, Cluster, C-Bush etc.,

SOFTWARE: Ansa

OBJECTIVE:

To study the various types of connections and apply suitable connections to the Model.

INTRODUCTION:

The way that some parts of an assembly are connected with each other can be a great factor of influence of the models’ behavior. For this reason an optimization of the connection type or pattern offers an important improvement to specific model characteristics.

Different types of connectors such as:

- Two Nodes RBE2

- Cluster RBE2

- RBE2-CBUSH-RBE2

- RBE2-HEXA-RBE2

- Nut and Bolt representation

- Seam weld data representation

Different operations such as:

- Converting and Realizing operations

- Connection Manager operations

- Assigning mass to a node

In this Model there are certain kind of connections has been done for Door handle, Hinge, Door Elastic / Rubber Stripe etc., and shown in the below figure,

Door_Handle: The connections has been done as Rigidity (RBE2) & Con_mass (CONM2) in which the mass value as assigned to the door handle 1e-4 .

Cluster: When the two parts are attached with bolt conection, the connections has been done by Manually RBE2 or Automatically by creating 3D points and convert that 3D points to Bolt connection.

Door_Hinge: In the Door hinge, Rigid connection at the hole and created RBE2 two nodes at the mid of the cluster. The door as Degree of Freedom expect rotational movement in Z-direction, So it is mentioned as 12345 only.

Spot_Weld: The Spot weld as done by creating 3D points and converts that point to Spot weld automatically. It as a feature of RBE3_Hexa_RBE3. All the nodes are Master node expect mid node as Slave node.

Spot_line & C_Bush: Inorder to create Spotline, initially need to convert FE to Curve and that curve convert to Spot_line.

After creating the Spot_line, Assign these line to RBE3_CBUSH_RBE3 which defines the Elasticity for 3 direction because of rubber stripe which reduces the vibration at the door & door window.
